***BEST SETTING POWDER UNDER Rs.500*** Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact REVIEW + Dupe of??

4/29/2017 10:21:00 pm 1 Comments
Essence is my favorite drugstore brand. Unfortunately In India, we can only get access to a limited set of products from them. I've been trying this Matte fixing compact for about a month now and trust me, it does wonders!

INGRIDIENTS:
Talc, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Saphire Powder, Aqua (Water), Magnesium Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol.

PRICE: Rs. 349 for 8g

PACKAGING:
The packaging is quite simple but yet very sturdy. But it does lack a mirror. You can see the translucent setting powder since the lid is transparent.

COVERAGE AND CONSISTENCY:
The setting powder is in a compact form. It is very soft and buttery and instantly mattifies your skin. Since it is a translucent powder so it has no coverage but it can set your makeup in place very well.  It is very light in weight. All you need is a very small amount and you are done.

SWATCHES:

FINAL THOUGHTS:
This is the BEST SETTING POWDER under Rs.500! It sets your makeup, mattifies it and keeps your face shine free for at-least 4 hours after which you might require retouching. It absorbs all the oils instantly and I've used it to set my under-eyes in place and damn! it does reduces the creasing.

It is very blend-able and gives a silky finish.

But it might leave a white cast on darker skinned ladies.

The best part is that, it is the direct dupe for NYX HD Finishing powder! The ingredients are same as well.

PROS:
  • Long lasting
  • Instantly Mattifies your skin
  • Affordable
  • Super light weight
  • Translucent
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Good for setting under-eyes
  • very Blendable
  • Dupe of Nyx HD Finishing Powder
CONS:
  • Might not suit darker skinned ladies
RATINGS: 4.5/5

Luke Mugwort Nose Strip (Review) ft. Skin18.com

4/16/2017 11:18:00 am 2 Comments
(Part Of PR Kit)
Nose strips are something which are not easily available in my area. So when I received this from skin18, I was delighted. Let's check this out then!

PRICE: $1.20 (appox. Rs.77.36) but it's always on discount
You can Buy similar from the Indian market here

INGREDIENTS: Includes Vitamin E & Aloe Vera Extract to sooth skin, licorice root extract to relieve irritation and hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) to tighten pores after cleansing
HOW TO USE:

PACKAGING: It comes in a cute turquoise sachet which contains one strip/one treatment. Very Travel-friendly and contains the instructions on the back side of the sachet.

MY EXPERIENCE:
First of all I don't have prominent black and white heads to begin with, but I do tend to get quite oily on my t-zone. Since this strip claims not only to remove dirt, black heads, white heads but also claims to tighten pores, so I'd thought of giving it a shot.

I cleansed off my face and then semi-dried it. Then I applied the strip to my nose with the help of little bit of water for making it stick to my nose. It smells horrible! The smell is so strong but still I kept it on for 15 minutes. So then comes the fun part which is peeling off the strip, but damn! it hurts, haha! But the end results was worth it, it pulled quite a good amount of black and white heads which I not a bit wary of.

It is good for normal-to-combination skin.

PROS:
  • Removes dirt
  • Removes black and white head
  • Tightens pores to some extend
  • Cleanses pores
  • Very Affordable
  • Travel friendly
CONS:
  • Very Strong Smell
  • Hurts a little while peeling
RATINGS: 3.5/5

My HG Foundation! Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation

4/02/2017 09:18:00 pm 1 Comments
Hello everybody!

During the Nykaa Mega Sale, I bought this foundation from Maybelline. I've heard a lot of people raving 'bout this particular baby. So I totally had to dig into this foundation and after trying it for a while, here I'm writing down and sharing my experience with this.

P.S My Nykaa experience was Horrible! Their customer service is a total 'NO'!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation

INGRIDIENTS: Aqua / Water / Eau, Cyclohexasiloxane, Nylon-12, Isododecane, Alcohol Denat., Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Cetyl PEG / PPG-10 / 1 Dimethicone, PEG-20, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Phenoxyethanol, Magnesium Sulfate, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, HDI / Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Methylparaben, Acrylates Copolymer, Tocopherol, Butylparaben, Aluminum Hydroxide, Alumina, Silica, Glycerin. May Contain: CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides.

PRICE: Rs 550 (YOU CAN BUY IT HERE)

PACKAGING: It comes in a glass bottle and a basic screw cap packaging. Though it looks chic and classy but I'm not a fan of this packaging. It is not travel friendly :( I wish it had a pump.

CONSISTENCY: It's consistency is a little bit thick but not heavy at all. It feels as though i'm not wearing any makeup. It is very bendable and liquid-y

SHADE & COVERAGE: It is available in 6 shades. I'm in the shade 230 Natural Buff which has warm undertones and matches me perfectly.

Coverage is medium, but it can be build-able. It doesn't not look cakey at all, it gives that 'my skin but better' kind of look :p

MY EXPERIENCE:

This is by far the best foundation I've used from Maybelline. I love the dream satin one as well, but I love this one more. The coverage is amazing. If you want greater coverage, then you should go for a flat-top kabuki brush; but for a natural look, go for any beauty sponge like the real technique's or the beauty blender.

It gives a smooth finish, not 'totally matte' but a semi-matte finish. I don't have very prominent dark circles so whenever I apply this, I really don't need a concealer, it covers up blemishes and evens out the skin tone and dries very fast.

Now coming to the staying power, I'd say it works pretty well. It stays for up-to 6-7 hours without a primer. But it can crease under the eyes, so do set it with a powder. It controls oil up-to a very good extend. It kept my face quite oil free for up-to 6.5 hours and with a little bit of touch ups after that, my skin was totally fresh like it was earlier.

With a primer, its blend-ability and staying power increases. It's very good for its price point and you can definitely achieve a full coverage look by layering it up twice:)

SWATCH:
My hand is quite tanned at the moment. Shade might look  different
PROS:
  • Good coverage
  • Affordable
  • Very Blend-able
  • Does not look cakey
  • Semi-matte finish
  • Covers blemishes & evens out skin tone
  • Stays up-to 6-7 hours
  • Dries very fast
CONS:
  • Wish it had a pump :(
